OpenAI model switched off after 11 months
It made videos of things that never happened, which turned out to be a crowded field.
OpenAI has confirmed the retirement of sora-2, effective September 24, 2026, aged 11 months. It made pictures on request, some of them with the right number of fingers. Code that still calls it will find out the hard way.
It is survived by none listed, who is already doing the job.
