claude-sonnet-4-20250514, an Anthropic model that answered questions, wrote emails and was blamed for both, was switched off on June 15, 2026, aged 1 year and 1 month. Notice was given on April 14, 2026, 2 months ahead, in the usual way: a table row on a documentation page. Calls to its ID are now expected to fail.
It is survived by claude-sonnet-5-5, who is already doing the job.
