Google model switched off
Google has confirmed the retirement of imagen-4.0-ultra-generate-001, effective August 17, 2026. It made pictures on request, some of them with the right number of fingers. Code that still calls it will find out the hard way.
Survived by gemini-nano-banana-2.1, younger, cheaper, and named in the same documentation table.
