Google has confirmed the retirement of veo-3.1-generate-preview, effective October 22, 2026. It made pictures on request, some of them with the right number of fingers. Requests addressed to it are expected to come back unanswered.
It is survived by gemini-omni-1.1-flash, who is already doing the job.
