o3-mini passed away on October 23, 2026, aged 1 year and 8 months, by scheduled deprecation, in a data center it never saw. It answered questions, wrote emails and was blamed for both. Calls to its ID are now expected to fail.
It is survived by gpt-5.6-sol, who is already doing the job.
